Noël!  An Early Christmas
Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and Traditional Christmas Music of Europe and the British Isles

The Advent and Christmas seasons have been wonderful sources of inspiration for composers and poets for centuries. Some of the most memorable and iconic works in the history of music have been created to honor the spirit of Christmas. As we looked at the cultural antecedents of our own musical traditions brought to us by immigrants from across Europe who helped create our rich cultural blend, we also found wonderful examples of distinctive seasonal works from many of those countries. We celebrate this diversity of musical ritual for Advent through the New Year from c.1200-c.1900 with our own style, in our own musical language, inspired by those who came before.

Recorded live December 14-16, 2012, and December 14-15, 2013, at First English Lutheran Church and First Presbyterian Church, Austin, TX. Jay Norwood, engineer.

This album is also available for download on iTunes, Amazon, and CD Baby!
