Founded in 1987 by Daniel Johnson, the Texas Early Music Project is dedicated to preserving and advancing the art of Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and early Classical music through performance, recordings, and educational outreach. 

Brady Lanier

Brady Lanier, viola da gamba

Brady Lanier is an active performer on the viola da gamba, Baroque and modern cello. He has appeared with numerous ensembles in the Houston area and beyond, including the Houston Symphony, Houston Bach Society, Mercury Baroque, Ars Lyrica, Istanpitta and Quaver Viol Consort. During the summer, he is a faculty member at the Viola da Gamba Society of America’s Conclave and the Texas Toot. Brady is also much in demand as an arranger and composer, having had works performed by the Houston Symphony, the United States Air Force Orchestra, and numerous other groups.

Brady is a graduate of the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University and is currently an Associate Instructor at Indiana University, earning a Masters degree in viola da gamba studying with Wendy Gillespie.
