[img: Lisa Alexander]Lisa Alexander was practically born singing. An active chorister from the age of 10, she began composing and arranging for chorus in high school. She has a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, where she graduated summa cum laude. During her career she has performed with the Los Angeles-based choral group Zephyr — Voices Unbound, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (under Maestro Helmut Rilling), and the Los Angeles Mozart Orchestra.

Since moving to Austin, she has performed with the Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Austin (Kate in Pirates of Penzance and the Fairy Queen in Iolanthe), the Austin Lyric Opera chorus, Austin Vocal Arts Ensemble, Texas Choral Consort, and Texas Early Music Project. She published a choral piece through Kensington Choralworks; and she toured Texas and the Midwest with her folk trio, the Pine Beetles.

A regular performer with the Spotlight on Opera program at St. Edward’s University since 2007, Lisa has performed the roles of Aunt Zinnia (Zita) in Johnny Schicchi, La Zia Principessa in Suor Angelica, Mamma Lucia in Cavalleria Rusticana, and Madame Flora in The Medium.
