Singing with the Texas Early Music Project (TEMP), La Follia Austin Baroque, Conspirare, and the Schola Cantorum at St. Mary's Cathedral involves him in a wide variety of song, from Gregorian chant to 18th-century cantatas and 21st-century choral works.

In addition to his ensemble performances with TEMP, Chris has sung solo roles in its concert productions of Handel's Alcina and Rinaldo, Purcell's King Arthur, and the pastiche Baroque Encounters. He has appeared as a guest artist with the San Francisco Early Music Society, the University of Texas Chamber Singers, and Ars Lyrica, Houston, and studied under Howard Crook in the Amherst Early Music Festival's Baroque Academy.

After studying voice with Marlene Ralis Rosen at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, he went on to earn a Ph.D. in English at the University of Texas at Austin. The Austin Critics Table named him Outstanding Male Singer for 2002.
